Farmhouse Networking
The client needed a reliable wireless network in their large farmhouse. They were using several daisy chained wireless repeaters. The downside to repeaters is that with every rebroadcast the bandwidth of the network is halved and they amplify noise and congestion.
The major change with the project is that the home was made before homes were designed for modern conveniences, like electricity and plumbing. Thankfully the home did have an extensive basement where we were able to place all the equipment.
We added shelves to the bottom of the floor joists and routed electric and cable lines to where we placed the network controller (UCG-Ultra). Then we ran two Ethernet cables to opposite sides of the home and added access points. (U7-Lite)
